Welcome

Welcome to St Laurence

Learning with Love and Laughter; Growing in God's Grace

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you, on behalf of the children, parents, staff and governors to

St Laurence Church of England Primary School’s website.

We hope you will find it engaging, interesting and informative.

St Laurence is proud to be a Church of England Primary School and part of the Derby Diocese Multi Academy Trust. There are currently 182 pupils attending our school. We are a friendly, happy, learning community providing education for pupils from the age of four, until the age of eleven, when our pupils move on to secondary school.

Our aim is to give every one of our pupils a happy and exciting start to their learning journey and to instil a love of learning and strong values which prepare each young person for a successful and fulfilling future.

Our children come together into our Early Years from a number of different settings in the locality. It is our priority that all children settle in quickly and get off to a flying start in the wonderful Early Years Foundation Stage that St Laurence provides.

We currently have seven classes, so the school is small enough for us to know all of our pupils and forge strong relationships with our families, which is extremely important to us.

St Laurence has recently been inspected by Ofsted and has been given an official Ofsted Rating of 'Good'. We are very proud of this outcome and know that the children, staff, parents, governors and Academy Trust have all worked together as an amazing team to achieve this outcome.

However, we will continue to build on our successes as we truly want the school to go from strength to strength. We fully appreciate that we cannot do this without us being a strong school community. Therefore, we hope to work closely with you to ensure the very best for our children.

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you will find all the information you need here on this site, but please telephone or email us if you need further details or if you wish to arrange a visit.

We look forward to seeing you in and around school.

Mrs R Barker,

Headteacher
