Pupil Voice
Pupil voice reflects a strong enjoyment of the French curriculum here at St Laurence, with children describing lessons as fun, engaging, and interactive. Pupils say they like learning new words and phrases and enjoy noticing similarities and differences between French and English, which helps them understand how languages work. Many children particularly appreciate learning French through stories, songs, poems, and rhymes, explaining that these activities make the language easier to remember and more enjoyable. They also enjoy practising speaking and listening skills with their classmates, building confidence in using French in a supportive environment, and developing curiosity and enthusiasm for learning other languages and cultures.
“ There is a new boy in my class who speaks French. I can say hello to him in his language!” Year 6 child.
