St Laurence Church of England Primary School - Collective Worship

Monday	Introduction of Value.	The Headteacher will introduce and lead Collective Worship based on the Value we are learning about each half term. Every Monday we develop our understanding of this Virtue.	What does the value mean? How can we live this value out in school and in our community. Prayer What is your understanding so far? Biblical references. Songs that support the meaning of the Value being taught.
Tuesday	Class Worship	Discuss and support deeper understanding of the Values - activities, information and prayer are planned to support this.	Ways to appreciate others, showing mutual respect and tolerance for others; opportunities to learn about Individual Liberty (the rights we have including the right to express ourselves; Rule of Law and Democracy. The latter includes learning about and practising fair systems and voting in school.
Wednesday	Picture News	News of current events from around the world with links to religious teachings	Broaden the understanding of current world issues and examine through a religious lens.
Thursday	Music and singing Assembly	Both inspirational and religious songs are taught and practised.	Provide opportunities for worship through song. Prayer
Friday	Consolidation of value	SLT lead worship that consolidates what we have learned and discussed in that week. We also use this time to share work from the week/class worship.	Celebrate work towards the current school value or focus
Awards (half-termly)	Celebration of achievement	Children receive awards based around the school values of Community and Responsibility Resilience Integrity Awards are given for other in and out of school achievements.	Parents are invited to worship and celebrate the achievements of our children outside of academic success.
