Autumn 1 - How did the Great Fire Change London?
This term the children will be learning about the Great Fire of London. They will look at the following things:
When it happened, how and why it spread and the impact it had on London. By looking at different evidence, they will also learn how we can study historical events today.
Autumn 2 - Are all pictures Art?
The children will investigate different pieces of art. They will also give their opinions and discuss different styles. The two paintings that they will spend most time considering are George and the Dragon by Wassily Kandinsky (1915) and St. George and the Dragon by Paolo Uccello (1470).

Spring 1 - Why don't Polar bears and Tigers live in Long Eaton?
In this learning challenge the children will focus on habitats and geographical differences around the world.
Spring 2 - Can we live on the moon?
Our question this half term is Can we live on the moon? In this learning challenge the children will focus on the history of space travel, the space race and the moon landing and they will also learn about Neil Armstrong. In addition to this, they will do some geographical work on the USA and Russia.
Summer 1 - How are our toys different from those in the past?
In this learning challenge, the children will look at the characteristics of different toys, they will compare toys from different periods of time, they will find out what toys our parents and grandparents played with and they will describe how toys are different and how they are the same.
