Do people in India tell traditional tales like Little Red Riding Hood?

India is full of traditional tales but not ones that we in the UK would have heard of. Often children are told bedtime stories from the book Grandma's bundle of stories. A well known story here would be Chacka Choudray (This may not be the correct spelling but it is phonetic - it is spelt as you say it). Stories in India often include, kings and queens, princes and princesses, characters that also appear in well known stories in the UK. Some of the children in the CRS schools (the group of schools we are working with) have heard of our traditional tales such as the Three Little Pigs but that is mostly because teachers from the UK bring books over in dual languages when they come to work.
