Do children in India have to go to school?
Children in India are meant to go to school, but unfortunately not all children do. Some children are too poor to be able to afford uniforms and some children are needed to work and so don't go to school. This is why CRS open schools in areas in poverty. This means there are no costs to travel to school. The school days are slightly shorter here and this means that the children can go home and help in the afternoons.
Everyone at CRS knows how important it is for all children to go to school and parents are very happy when their children can go - even if they didn't go to school themselves when they were younger.
