Day 9, 01.02.20 Sports day

Today has been a very special day! Children from many different CRS slum schools have been invited to take part in a sports day - for some children the first time they will leave the slum and others the first time they will take part in a sports day......we are very excited as about 600 children have been invited, including about 40 children from Brace Bridge!
The day started with very excited children arriving - when the children arrived they all got breakfast. A lot of the children only ate a little bit and put the rest in bags to take home to their family.
After breakfast we got on with the sports! I was in charge of the three legged race - It was such fun! Brace Bridge school decided to go one better than a three legged race and we ended up with about 10 children all tied to me.....Here are some photos showing some of the sports we did...
After the sports, it was lunch time and while the children ate there was a magician. Some children also had their first taste of ice cream!
We finished the day with a song.......one I hope that everyone at St. Laurence will be able to learn as well.
