Day 6, 29.01.20 Kolkata
Today it has been a bank holiday and so all of the schools have been closed for celebrations. So instead of visiting school we took a trip to the coast to a rural place called Diamond Harbour. It took 3 hours to get there on a bus! It was really interesting to look out of the window but a little bit sad as there was so much rubbish in lovely countryside.
When we arrived we were met by a welcoming committee. As we walked into the building we were each given a bhindi spot, walked on fresh petals and had cleansing smoke swirling around us. The ladies then demonstrated some traditional Indian dances. The youngest dancer was just two years old!

After the welcome we were able to climb to the top of the building where we could see the paddy fields and countryside. It was lovely!
