Day 3, 26.01.20 Kolkata
We started today with a service at St. Paul's cathedral, which is a really impressive building. It was a special day here in India as today is known as Republic Day which meant everyone was out celebrating. After the Church service we were invited to the Church breakfast and then went for a walk in Victoria Park. This is a large park that was built to commemorate Queen Victoria. One interesting fact we learnt today was that it costs more for foreigners to enter the park than people who live in India.
Following our walk we went back to the Cathedral to the Cathedral Relief Service (CRS) where we learnt more about the schools we will be visiting this week. The school I am visiting is new to the project and there is a lot to do!
We ended the day getting to know staff from CRS by cruising on the Hooghly River where we saw people bathing in the river, beautiful monuments and incredible bridges.
